You know what time of year it is. The temperature drops, the days get shorter, we find ourselves reaching for our warm, cozy layers, and pumpkin spice everything! Food becomes abundant as we fulfill some of our favorite holiday traditions: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. We try to resist at the beginning, but we eventually give in and remind ourselves that it's OK to indulge this time of year and let's not forget - NEW YEAR, NEW ME.
However, once the Christmas tree finally comes down and all the glitter is gone, we finally step on the scale and WAAAAAAAAAA! We've put on 5+ pounds. We've all been there. (If not, I'm only moderately envious of either your 1: Super fast metabolism or 2: Ability to put the cookie down.)
So, my goal this holiday season is to not have that WAAAAAAAA! moment. I want to have that "Oh, that's not too bad" moment. Ya know what I mean?
I'm calling it my Seasonal Maintenance Challenge.
My goal is not to LOSE weight, but rather maintain my current body composition.
I'm starting WHERE I am. Exactly AS I am. And ACCEPTING it.
I love my body and I am amazed by what it can do and am excited to see what else it is capable of.
And guess what? You should too! You should be amazed by your body. It is a beautiful creation - and I want to help remind you of that.
You should not feel guilt after the holidays. You should feel joy and fulfillment, and ready to take on the new year!
So, let's get a kickstart on eliminating that post-holiday guilt!
My focus is:
1: Mindfulness
2. Moderation
This isn't an attempt to cut weight and see drastic changes in my body comp. But rather, a way to feel in control as I take on the holidays and zero guilt when I step on the scale January 1st.
Knowing that I am giving myself the cushion room to eat some of my favorite foods during the most wonderful time of the year while maintaining my body, gives me such peace of mind.
I won't be sneaking Halloween candy into my lunchbox.
I won't be eating until I've gotta unbutton my pants at the dinner table.
And I won't be specifically coordinating outfits to match the amount of food I intend on eating at Thanksgiving.
I intend on living my best life, without the guilt!
So - are you in?
Let's take on the holiday season without the guilt!
Seasonal Maintenance Challenge is underway! Start soon!
